Below is our monthly funding round up of grant funding for the third sector in North Lanarkshire:

Shared Care - Creative Breaks

Next Application Deadline: 23rd  May 2019 (5pm)

The Creative Breaks programme provides 12 month grants to third sector organisations to develop and deliver short breaks projects and services for carers of adults (aged 21 years and over), and young carers (caring for children or adults), and the people that they care for.

A total of around £600,000 is available for the 2019-20 round of the Creative Breaks funding programme. Grants are for one year and will be awarded in October 2019. The maximum grant award is £50,000, however please be aware that the average grant award in previous years has been around £13,000.

Comic Relief – Ahead of the Game: Sport and Mental health

Next Application Deadline: 31st  May 2019 (12 noon)

Comic Relief has launched this funding call with two aims:

Firstly, it aims to support new or existing work that combines sports based approaches with quality mental health support to reduce distress and/or improve mental wellbeing. 

Secondly, it aims to contribute to the growing body of evidence by learning from projects about what approaches are effective for whom, in what contexts.

The fund will support work in the United Kingdom, Ghana, Uganda and Rwanda. Funding is for a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years. Applications are welcome for £150 000 to £450 000.

Scotch Whisky Action Fund – Tackling Alcohol Related Harm

Next Application Deadline: 18th July 2019 (12 noon)

The Fund is looking to support and develop a range of projects/initiatives which  deliver targeted interventions designed to tackle alcohol-related harms in Scotland's communities. The Fund will focus on applications from new/innovative or pilot initiatives which aim to test new approaches and which will offer an opportunity for learning that others can use.

Awards of up to £25,000 for a one year period can be made through this Fund. Please note that  whilst you can apply for up to £25,000, an award of this level would only be granted in exception circumstances.  In practice, they would expect to make awards in the region of £10,000.

Scottish Children’s Lottery – Chance to Flourish

Chance to Flourish operates as a grant giving charity seeking to advance education, health and social development of pre-school children and their families and carers. They seek to support projects and activities in Scotland, with the aspiration of alleviating the impact of poverty or financial hardship, social exclusion, relative/multiple deprivation and disability or illness, with the aim of giving all young people in Scotland the opportunity of a productive future where they can become young adults with a positive contribution to make to society. You can apply for a small grant (up to £2000), a medium grant (up to £20,000) or for a large grant (up to £50,000). They prefer to fund up to a limit of 50% of any specific project. Any more than this will be at the sole discretion of the trustees.
