Cancer Screening Inequalities Fund

The Community Solutions programme, in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire Public Health (Screening Inequalities), is pleased to announce the launch of the Screening Inequalities Fund.

The Fund exists to fund and support developments to tackle inequalities in cancer screening programmes. The national cancer screening programmes aims to detect changes in certain conditions at the earliest possible stage.

The fund will support eligible community and voluntary sector organisations to deliver a programme of activity in one or both of the Bellshill and Airdrie localities, using a community development approach to improve awareness and engagement with the national cervical and breast screening programme. These localities have been identified as priority due to low take up rates of screening in both areas.

£7.5k of funding is available for each of the Airdrie and Bellshill areas. Organisations can apply for funding for either just one locality or for both. Any organisations applying to work in both localities should note, however, that a separate application form is required for each.

Funded work will take place over a 12-month period from the date funding is awarded.
